Month of June
and month of Hospitality
(Welcome one another with brotherly
affection)
04-06-'07 (Monday)
With a great joy in our heart and profound gratitude to
the Provident God, we began this academic year in a simple manner. The parents
brought the children to the school. Our Provincial superior Rev. Fr. Luigi de
Giambattista came here occasionally. We had Morning Prayer and assembly. Then
the parents met Fr. Luigi de Giambattista and had some sharing regarding the
growth and the service of DGRC. Following that, Fr. Robert, the director
introduced the staff to Fr. Luigi de Giambattista and then they had meeting
regarding the progress of our service. He wished all the best for the better
service to the children. The DGRC family thanked Fr. Luigi de Giambattista for
his words of welcome and encouragement.

Today, Fr.Robert, the director, Fr. Joseph, the staff
and the Good Children welcomed the two new regents M.Dominic Sebastian Baskar and C.Velankanni to join the DGRC family.
Fr.Luigi
de Giambattista, the provincial superior of DPP came to DGRC in order to bless
the Good Children and their parents at 3 o'clock in the evening. It was also
the moment of official inauguration of DGRC. He invoked the gifts of the Holy
Spirit upon our children. Followed by the blessings, the children exposed the
monthly program of the academic year 2007-2008. Then Fr.Robert, the director
explained the themes with the tree of the year symbolically. As the tree grows
with the proper care of watering, manuring etc, so also the children will grow
better and better with the care of love and service. Then the children thanked
Mother Mary with an offering of the lit candle. Finally Fr.Luigi de
Giambattista shared his joys with the children by distributing the sweets. Like
our Founder, he also cherished the love of the Good Children.
Fr.Robert, the director met the parents commonly and
introduced to them the two regentsBros. M.Dominic Sebastian Baskar and
C.Velankanni. He also asked the valuable suggestions for the better progress of
DGRC and explained about adopting a new uniform for the children. He also asked
them to gather again for the parents meeting on June30th without fail.
In
the evening, the Fathers and the regents met to know and discuss the responsibilities
and the program of DGRC. Rev.Fr. Robert explained the activities and objectives
of DGRC. He also divided the duties in order to have a good ministry. He always
stressed that the mission must be done in freedom with responsibility. The
children are the centre of our focus in all the ways possible. The regents were
very happy for the warm welcome and encouraging words of the director. "United
we stand, and divided we fall" is the program by which alone the mission can
bear its fruits.
09-06- '07 (Saturday)
It
was a special day for our special children, because they had IQ test conducted
by Drs. Suganthi (the psychologist and project officer,Tambaram) and Santhanam
(Deputy Director, VRC, Guindy-32). The doctors came to our centre at 10 o'
clock and they began meeting the children with their parents. The parents were
questioned by the doctors about the children's mental and physical health
conditions. The parents were transparent enough to tell everything about their
children. The children were also being asked some questions. This interview
helped us to assess the children's intelligent caliber. This interview ended
only in the evening with the tea. The parents were happy about the progress of
the children. With the Doctor's report, we proceed further steps in their goal
setting and to promote them accordingly.
The
friends of DGRC came to our centre around 11 o' clock and entertained our
children by chating with them. They also distributed some biscuits, sweets and
lunch. This was a great charity. Their visit was a great blessing to our
children and to our centre.

Today, it is a precious day for Mr.Anthuvan, an active
member of the Friends of DGRC, because of his birth day. He was so happy to
celebrate his birth day amidst of our children. He spent the whole day with our
children sharing with them his birth day joys. He cut his birth day cake at
noon and our children sang birth day wishes. Our child Amul Jothi fed the birth
day baby with a small piece of cake. Then he had his lunch with our children.
We had a good dinner today, because we have anticipated
the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to today. It is a congregational
feast. The children were quite happy to have the dinner.
15-06-'07 (Friday)
What a wonderful day it is for our children. Today all
our children were very much excited because of the pilgrimage that we have
arranged for our children to the Infant Jesus Shrine, Manali. We arranged two
vehicles for the better transportation. We left here at 9.30 a.m. and we
reached Manali at11.00 a.m. We spent sometime in prayer and then we had a
solemn mass with our children. The Holy Eucharistaic celebration was celebrated
by Rev.Frs. Robert and Joseph. Then Seva Missionary Sisters gave a warm welcome
to our children and offered a good meal to our children. After the lunch, the
children were left free. The Seva Missionary Sisters have a matriculation
school near the shrine. So in the play ground, the twelfth students both boys
and girls came and accompanied our children. They entertained our children with
some games and funs. Then we started back our journey. On the way, we visited
the house of Ms.Reshmi, the staff of DGRC. Then we came to our house safely
with a sense of gratitude to the Merciful Lord.
